“For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length–and there I travel looking, looking breathlessly.”
Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge
Does your path have heart? Are you able to take heart in the new day. If you can’t…your path is void of heart.
Have you thought about those unfortunate people who awaken in the morning…desperately hoping dreams of joy and happiness somehow renewed them. Much to their dismay, they unhappily discover their slumbers reinforced their misery?
Could that be a condition that currently haunts you? Do you sadly lament “My God, another day without hope, another day of suffering through the same old drudgery…without any prospects of pleasure or satisfaction.”
A suffocating feeling of despair causes the hopeless man or woman to wonder if anything will ever make a positive difference in the scheme of existence.
If you are one of those unfortunate souls, my heart goes out to you. I understand. I’ve been there. However, do you know it doesn’t have to be that way? It is possible for you to manifest a world that is vastly different from the one you unconsciously created.
Enya sings the following verse from the song “Once You Had Gold.”
“What is the dark shadows around you;
Why not take heart in the new day?
Ever and always. Always and ever.
No-one can promise a dream for you.
Time gave both darkness and dreams to you”
Just the beauty of the song is enough to unleash a person’s most sublime feelings and emotions. The wisdom is timeless. Here it is if you want to listen to it.
The Dark Shadow
Tragically, many people live their lives with the ominous dark shadow as their constant companion. They unwittingly surround themselves with darkness…diminishing the brilliant light they shined forth during their fleeting days of happiness. The gloom generated by the shadow of despair now envelops their being. Somewhere along the path…they abandoned heart.
Has the dark shadow become your constant companion? If so, you no doubt suffer much pain and torment. Woe and sorrow will continue to stalk you if…you remain unaware of the morning sun that rises so gloriously in the east.
Have you asked yourself why it has to be this way…or are you too depressed to think about it? Maybe the pain from self-analysis or introspection outweighs any benefits you might gain. At least that’s what you believe. I can honestly state from my own experiences that much of what you think you know amounts to self-created illusions. Underneath your pain and suffering is a beautiful person, an enlightened soul who would love to soar to heights of greatness…a man or woman who can take heart in the new day.
If you are involved with a person who feels this way, it is quite frustrating and heartbreaking. You know if this precious individual would only open his (her) heart, mind and spirit…he would begin seeing through the illusions that control his life. Can you imagine what it would mean to someone…to release the blocks and obstacles to joy and happiness?
Carlos Castaneda says “A path is only a path, and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you . . . Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself alone, one question . . . Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn’t it is of no use.”
Are you on a path with heart? Do you experience the joy of your existence? The Integrated Individual experiences the pleasures of life.
Take Heart In the New Day
If you can’t take heart in the new day, you cannot possibly hope for a day of joy, pleasure and ecstasy. Without heart, there is no hope and no chance for the feelings of fulfillment that result from a successful day.
Ask yourself these questions. When the alarm goes off in the morning do you automatically wish you could return to your slumbers and escape the stark reality of your meaningless life? Or do you happily think about your mission in life…bubbling with excitement about the steps you can take that moves you closer to your ultimate goals and desires? Are you able to joyously anticipate some of the pleasures you will indulge in today? Do you realize that even the little things in life are experiences you can delight in?
Do you know…it is possible to regain your power or to rediscover the power you thought was forever lost? You may believe others possess all the available power, since they seem so adept at using it against you. That’s an illusion irrationally selfish power-seekers and phony do-gooders (Soldiers of the Elite) want you to believe. The power you need to transform your life into your dreams, desires and fantasies is within you. You own it. Yeah, it’s likely you thoughtlessly extinguished its once dazzling fire of magnificence. Once you walk the path with heart…you re-ignite it. You take heart in the new day.
Creating Your Own Dream
Enya is correct. No one can promise a dream for you. You must create your own dream. You probably know what your fantasies, goals and desires are. It should be obvious…it’s up to you to manifest them. If you are waiting for a knight in shining armor or the manna from heaven to fall in your lap you will be sorely disappointed. You must realize most people have enough difficulty creating and manifesting their dreams. They certainly aren’t concerned about yours…unless, of course, yours and theirs are intertwined. If you want to attract rational, beautiful, spiritual people into your life you have to shine forth the beauty of your spirit…the beauty you nurture and cherish with all your heart.
You can create the life you desire. All you have to do is take heart in the new day…and the day may very well return the favor and supply you with your heart’s desires.
