Hi, Robert, I’ll get right to the point: First, while you seem to have a decent grasp of economics and politics (government) from an Objectivist perspective, you also appear to have some very odd notions about the more fundamental, foundational and logically prior aspects of Objectivism. Objectivist Ethics – Reality or Illusion

Ayn Rand opened up her thought provoking book The Virtue of Selfishness, a primer on Objectivist ethics, with a question people sometimes asked her. Why do you use the word selfishness to denote virtuous qualities of character, when the word antagonizes so many people to whom it does not mean the things you mean?

She said for the reason that makes you afraid of it, which is obviously a bold statement. Of course, we need to understand that she was referring to rational selfishness, not the irrationality people normally associate with selfishness.

Let’s discover if the Objectivist ethics are reality or illusion.

False Morality of the Hive Mind Mentality

Today I noticed a billboard that had the following: “Does your vote reflect your morals?” At first glance it might seem reasonable that an individual should vote according to his or her moral principles. At second glance you might realize…this could be dangerous to the liberty and freedom of someone who lives by a different moral code…especially if this person sees through the illusions of the Hive Mind Mentality.
